Overview
Department of Environmental Science started its journey as full-fledged department since July 2005. The students are just going to complete their graduation. Maximum numbers of students have got the change of higher study in different universities of West Bengal and other states. The informal environment and team work of the department makes for an easy and interactive atmosphere conducive to learning and personality development.
Facilities we have
- Well equipped laboratory
- Modernized class rooms with audio visual aids
- Seminar library with a rich collection of more that 400 texts and reference books
Departmental Activity
- Apart from the regular classes, department conducts tutorial and remedial classes for the benefit of the students
- Organizes seminars on different areas connected with the subject by dignified guest speakers
- Arranges special classes in different famous institutes of India
- Conducts students seminar, Quiz, Group Discussion at a regular interval to develop the skill and knowledge of the students
- Publishes wall magazine – ENVIROLUTION and news letter GREEN LETTERS every year
- Carried out some consultancy work on quality of drinking water monitoring in collaboration with local NGO (Bijoy Modak Center for Social Development and Research, Arambagh)

- 2008 – highest marks 75.3% (university topper)
- 2009 – highest marks 71.8% (university topper)
- 2010 – highest marks 68.5%
Excursion
Department considers the educational tour and industrial visit of the students seriously. As a part of commitment to the students supposed to be gathering field knowledge about the real environment and different industrial pollution, Department conducts educational excursion every year.
