Brief history

Year of Establishment: The youngest department of this college is the Department of Physical Education established in 2009. Considering the increasing importance of Physical Education as an academic discipline it offers the subject as a combination course in the syllabus of the University of Burdwan.

Departmental Activities

• Apart from theoretical knowledge it imparts physical education activities for senior students throughout the year
• It organizes an “Annual Athletic Meet” in every academic session
• It arranges inter departmental Tournaments like cricket, football etc. throughout the year.
• It also imparts coaching to the college team for various games and sports such as Inter – collegiate tournaments, non-Government college sports, non-Government state Athletic Meet etc.
• It attempts to build up the future career of the students by preparing them through regular practices of physical education activities

• Most of the facilities of indoor games are available at the students’ common room
• Coaching camps are held for football, cricket, volley ball and athletics.
• There is a well equipped store room in the college for conducting various types of games and sports
• To enrich their knowledge in the subject, various types of books are available in the college library.
• There is also a multi-gymnasium in the college where there is provision for exercise for male and female students separately.

3. Achieving the academic Excellency in various games and sports
