Duties of a Student
The students enrolled will have to abide by the following rules and regulations, failing which one’s enrolment is liable to be cancelled.
i) Regular attendance in the classes ( The students failing to have fixed percentage as per university rules are debarred from appearing at the final examination).
ii) Fulfilment of the eligibility criteria for promotion to the next higher classes.
iii) Payment of fees in due time.
iv) Maintaining good conduct.
v) Maintaining discipline in the college campus.
vi) Attending seminars and group discussions.
vii) Promoting good academic as well as administrative relationship within the campus.
viii) Attending the annual sports meet, inter-class competitions, cultural competition and academic programmes organized by the college from time to time.
ix) Inculating moral values and maintaining healthy relations with the society. |
Tution fee concessions are available to few meritorious students and to the students from economically backward families (e.g. BPL card holder) at the sole discretion of the college authorities.
The college has, of late, introduced a unique system of helping the advanced learners. Students obtaining first class in University Examinations are exempted from tution fees for the next academic session.
Student's Union
According to the statute of the University of Burdwan, the college has a democratically elected Students' Union. The Students' union plays a constructive role in the development of the academic atmosphere and in the all round development of the college. The students' union also publishes the college magazine every year. The students' union organises many cultural programmes, cultural & games competition, annual sports, debates, blood donation camps etc. to enrigh the co-curricular standard of the students

- students having outstanding sporting abilities .
We abide by the Government and University guidelines regarding reservation of seats
Remedial Coaching
A coaching centre for economically backward students of SC & ST categories has been set up this year within the college campus under the sponsorship of the UGC, New Delhi. The Centre is expected to provide academic facilities for students of backward classes to enable them to get success in examinations

Student's Support System
Career Counselling Cell was established in 2004 to provide placement assistance and information about higher studies and organize campus interviews
The Alumni Association has already performed series of programme viz. Blood Grouping, Health Check-up for female students of the Girls hostel, Seminars on AIDS awareness etc.
For all around development of the students, the college, besides maintaining a healthy academic atmosphere, is very much keen to promote the extracurricular activities of the students.
To mention a few:
(a) Four coaches in the filed of games & sports have been recruited to help our students increase their proficiency;
(b) an well-equipped Gymnasium has been arranged to develop the physical condition of the students
(c) There is a proposal of the construction of basket ball court behind the B.M. Building. |
